If you've ever wandered the Len's Cove docks and spotted a Rinker with "Hawk's Nest" proudly displayed, you've already met our financial consultant - sort of. That floating office belongs to Steve Hawkins: long-time boater, in-house financing expert, and all-around great guy. Whether you're buying your first boat or upgrading your current ride, chances are you'll cross paths with Steve. And trust us, you'll be glad you did.
Now in his 16th year helping Len’s Cove customers get on the water, Steve knows how to make boat financing feel simple. What can feel overwhelming on your own becomes surprisingly easy with him at your side. He walks you through every step, answers the questions you didn’t even know to ask, and helps you land the financing solution that fits your life—not just your loan.
Before joining us, Steve spent 22 years as a technical news director for CKWS TV, a CBC affiliate. That background taught him how to juggle fast-paced decisions, shifting priorities, and the occasional storm. But what really sets Steve apart is how much he genuinely cares. He's built lasting relationships with customers from all over the region, many of whom he still greets each summer as they walk past the Hawk's Nest.
But Steve’s impact goes beyond financing... He’s even made waves in our kitchen. Our signature hand-battered fish at The Galley? That was Steve’s idea. After some friendly persuasion (and a few taste tests), we finally gave it a go - now it’s a menu staple. If you ever catch Steve on the docks, ask him about the time Sean owed him $100 USD... it’s a story that gets better every time he tells it.
Outside of Len’s Cove, Steve’s commitment to community runs just as deep. He’s volunteered with World Hope International and Haiti WISH Canada on multiple mission trips, and now serves as Vice Chair of Haiti WISH Canada, continuing to support life-changing work abroad.
So next time you’re at Len’s Cove, keep an eye out for that Rinker on the shoreline. You might spot Steve helping a customer map out their next big adventure - or just catching up with a dock neighbor over coffee. Because around here, boat buying isn’t just a transaction - it’s a relationship. And with Steve in your corner, it’s one you’ll feel good about from day one.
