Late Thanksgiving for Boating | Time Pressure on your Marina

Written by Doug Horsfall | September 05, 2013

Say it isn't so! We are starting to make advanced preparations to start hauling some boats for winter storage. The lateness of the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend this year (our customary end of boating on the Big Rideau Lake - and many other areas close to here) does have us concerned.

Many boaters stretch the season to that point as tradition, although some rarely use their boats. If you can be done early, PLEASE let us (or your marina) know! The service department needs to winterize and haul anyone who knows they are finished so they can get a head start. We do need to haul-out as many as we can before the season comes to it's normal end particularly this season.

If your plans include activities other than boating during the weeks before the Thanksgiving weekend, it would help us immensely if you could surrender your boat early.

Thank you!
