We realize its not quite wakeboarding season yet! But we wanted to remind you about a few great tips to help you get excited for boating and board buying season!
Here are a few tips for those of you new to wakeboarding:
  • Speak to a professional to find a board size that is right for you!
  • Three rules of beginner wakeboarding: knees bent, arms straight, and head up.
  • The more relaxed you are with the board the more control you have.
  • Stay curled up with your knees to your chest and let the boat do the work
  • Do not resist the boat when attempting to get out of the water
  • Boat drivers: Wakeboarding is not water skiing - go easy on the throttle when accerlerating to get the boarder out of the water
  • Wakeboard beginner speed is around 18 mph
  • Where the rope goes, the boards goes
  • Hold the rope in front of your hip, keep your hips square to shoreline, this will help keep the board vertical with the boat
  • Longer wakeboards are typically easier to wake board on
  • A shorter wakeboard makes it easy to flip and spin in the air
  • Longer deeper wakeboard fins benefit beginner riders. It provides a more stable ride
  • Keep your board out the the sun for long periods of time. The sun can have damaging effects
